Rome, 24 April – Minister Valditara returns to talk, unfortunately, about school. The long declarations on the reform of the public education model and on the much-vaunted “revolution of merit and education” that this government is carrying out with great interest speak of an elusive “cultural change” About of “model that the left imposed on us from ’68 onwards”. Empty phrases from the owner of the department of Viale Trastevere, who also speaks of a school that returns to having dignity as a performing reality and an open place for the complete fulfillment of the student. A vision that collides in every way with the real nature of the Valditara school.
The reform of the Valditara school
For Valditara and collaborators, the change in the 1968 model passes only through the increase in importance assigned to vote in conduct in the overall evaluation of the student, new rules on suspensions and a small change in ratings. “There will be a radical change and it will become central for the final judgement, because with a 5 in conduct the student will fail, and this will happen starting from middle school. While with the 6th it will be postponed to September” and again “we will replace the synthetic evaluations with excellent, good, fair, sufficient, insufficient. Let’s do a clarity operation that will also help the student understand what stage his preparation is at.” This is the “revolution” announced with great fanfare by the minister: a summary of the worst conservatism from the police station which doesn’t overturn anything at all, on the contrary, it strengthens all the drifts of today’s school.
What change?
All this when, a few days before April 25, the renewal of the three-year memoranda of understanding between the MIM and Anpi arrived, covered by the expansion of the agreement also to other partisan associations. Therefore a minister who, in the name of fighting the ideological school of the left, it fills the halls even more with the false rhetoric of the Resistance. This is the “most right-wing government in republican history”.
