The elderly man died last Friday in hospital in Sondrio after having been found, a week earlier, by the police alerted by the other tenants of the condominium in poor health, malnourished and with a gangrenous leg, in his bed with his wife next to him. dead for weeks. The cause of death could be traced back to the collapse of his body, already weakened, after the recent leg amputation surgery. The elderly man’s body, as well as that of his wife Anna Maria Squarza, 91 years old, also from Verona, will be cremated: it is not known whether the ashes will be taken to Verona or will remain in Valtellina, where they had moved since the emergency Covid with his unemployed son, living with his elderly parents, owners of various properties and who led a very private life in the tourist resort on the border with the province of Brescia.
