Gas Station Simulator has grossed more than $10 million on Steam: it’s a gas station simulator

Gas Station Simulator it’s a big hit on Steam. It is a petrol station simulator, more precisely a petrol station, which has grossed more than ten million dollars, for one million copies sold (among all versions). It was launched in September 2021 and is one of the many “simulators” that have entered the hearts of players, despite not being covered by the press and the like.

Low costs, great revenues

The 10 million dollars in revenues were reached in March 2024 and do not take into account the sales made in other stores, namely GOG and Epic Games Store, probably much lower than those of the Valve store. Not even the numbers were counted console versions (Gas Station Simulator is available for Xbox, PlayStation and Nintendo Switch).

The new data was revealed by Joanna Tynor, the CEO of DRAGO Entertainment, the Polish development studio that made and published the game. According to Tynor, March 2024 was the best month for Gas Station Simulator sales since October 2021.

It should be underlined that the data relating to units sold dates back to December 2022 and includes all versions of the game.

Between development and marketing, Gas Station Simulator cost around 110 million euros. It recovered its budget an hour and a half after launch. The game itself, which puts you in the shoes of the new owner of an abandoned service station who has to deal with full tanks of petrol, psychopaths and aliens, has 88% of the almost 19,000 Steam reviews positive, a sign that it is truly appreciated by users. The maximum peak of concurrent players on Valve’s platform was 12,229, recorded at launch.

Also DLC of Gas Station Simulator are harbingers of success, considering that the last one, Tidal Wave, recovered the investment, equivalent to that of the development budget, in about a week.
