Genoa. Assigned to Liguria over 230.5 million euros of resources from the Development and Cohesion Fund (FSC) 2021-2027 to finance the interventions envisaged by the cohesion agreement signed between the Region and the Government for the strengthening of strategic sectors.

The final approval arrived today, with the summit meeting of Cipess, the Interministerial Committee for Economic Planning and Sustainable Development, which has the task of giving the definitive structure for the programming of the FSC-Development and Cohesion Fund 2021-2027. The agreement was signed last September 22nd during the Boat Show by the president of the Liguria Region Giovanni Toti and the president of the Council of Ministers, Giorgia Meloni, and provides for investments of over 265 million euros, of which 35.2 million have already been allocated with the anticipation of 2021.

The amount assigned with the signing of the agreement is over 230 million40 of which will be used as a co-financing share for the European Por-Fesr funds 2021-2027, thus freeing equal resources from the regional budget (initially committed as co-financing of the Por-Fesr) to be used to finance further regional spending.

Among the most significant projects at regional level, the safety of around twenty provincial roads (21.4 million euros); restructuring and efficiency interventions of the assets of public residential construction (over 25.1 million euros) and the construction of some sections of the Tirrenica cycle route (20.6 million euros). In the metropolitan area of ​​Genoa the investments will cover the increased costs relating to the construction of the spillway of the Bisagno stream (27 million euros), the completion of the new Cristoforo Colombo airport terminal (7 million euros), the co-financing of the new dry dock project in the port (20.5 million euros).

In La Spezzino, co-financing of the new Felettino hospital is expected Spice (15.5 million euros), in the Imperia area the co-financing of the birth and pediatrics block of the Borea hospital in Sanremo (1.2 million euros); the infrastructural adaptation with the modification of the power system of the Ventimiglia railway station (4.5 million euros).

“Now we are just waiting for registration by the Court of Auditors, which will then lead to the concrete implementation of the projects financed through the granting of funds by the Region to the beneficiaries – said the President of the Region Toti – We were the first to sign this type of agreement for cohesion with the Government, which will lead great benefits for the entire territory: the green light for the use of FSC funds as co-financing of European structural programming has made it possible to free up the current spending of the Regions, giving them the opportunity to reuse the funds for other projects and initiatives of primary importance for citizens . In this funding package over 83 million euros they will finance transport and mobility, two strategic sectors for the growth of the entire regional economy”.
