Serious accident on the morning of Tuesday 23 April. Two trucks and a car were involved, the latter of which was crushed and stuck between the trucks. The collision occurred on the A1 Milan-Naples motorway near the municipality of San Donato Milanese. Intense traffic on the stretch: the queues start at Linate.
The accident occurred around 10.30am. According to what was reported by the Regional Emergency and Urgency Agency, a lorry hit a car which in turn collided with a second lorry proceeding in front. The car remained stuck between the two heavy vehicles. The Milan firefighters intervened on site to extract the victim, a 49-year-old man, who was taken urgently, but not in danger of his life, to the San Gerardo hospital in Monza by helicopter.
In addition to the air ambulance, the 118 operators arrived at the scene of the accident with two ambulances and a medical car. The driver of the truck that hit the car, a 56-year-old man, was also injured in the impact and was taken to the emergency room with a yellow code. The driver of the heavy vehicle at the head of the collision was uninjured. Local police officers from Milan and San Giuliano Milanese intervened on site and are entrusted with investigating the case.
