Salerno, the show «Penelope, the legacy of women» wins at the Teatro XS Festival

The Compagnia degli Evasi of Castelnuovo Magra with the show «Penelope, the legacy of women» by Marco Balma wins the fifteenth edition of XS City of Salerno Theater Festivalalso taking home the youth jury prize, entitled a Ileana Petretta Pecoraro Scanio.

On Sunday 21 April 2024 at the Genovesi Theater in Salerno there was the gala, opened by the sensational interpretation of Anna Rita Vitolo of «The Flower that I sent you I kissed it», a show directed by Antonio Grimaldi; scenic and dramaturgical writing by Elvira Buonocore, Anna Rita Vitolo And Antonio Grimaldi; production of the Center for Studies on Neapolitan, Southern and European Theatre, chaired by Antonia Lezzaand the Grimaldello Theater.

The public prize was awarded to the show which received the greatest appreciation: thus with an average of 9.54 (the public expressed a vote from 6 to 10 at the end of each performance) «Il Bacciamano» by Manlio Santanelli brought on stage by the GAD of Pistoia which for the first time participated in the festival organized by the Compagnia dell’Eclissi and took to the podium. They must then be added Best Actress Awardsupported by the Soroptimist International of Italy – Club of Salerno, sponsor of the Festival since the first edition, awarded to Lucia del Gatto interpreter of the role of Janara and the UILT Award – Italian Free Theater Union, chaired by Orazio Picella. The Award for Best Directornamed after Antonio Serritiello, was won by Pinuccio Bellone for the show «Oltre la Striscia» by Fabio Pisano staged by the Corte dei Folli of Fossano which also conquered the Best Actor Awardattributed to Stefano Sandroni for the role of Rinan.

This year too, the winners were awarded unique and original sculptures by Don Qialias Roberto Lombardi. The National Theater Festival XS City of Salerno 2024, directed by Enzo Totais conceived and organized by the Compagnia dell’Eclissi in partnership with the IIS Genovesi-Da Vinci, led by the director Lea Celano, and with the support of the Soroptimist International Club Salerno and the Unione Italiana Libero Teatro Campania.
