Perfect evening for Inter. Yesterday Yann Sommer’s team has mathematically won the twentieth championship in its history, and did so by beating city rivals Milan in the derby. Having taken the lead through Acerbi in the 18th minute following a corner kick, the Nerazzurri doubled their lead at the start of the defense thanks to Thuram. Tomori’s goal in the 80th minute allowed Pioli’s team to halve the gap, but the Rossoneri’s final effort did not produce an equalizer and at the final whistle the celebrations of Inter players and fans broke out.
The conquest of the tricolor number 20 will allow Inter to sew another one on their shirt for next season star, a symbol that in Italy the teams that win the scudetto ten times can boast of. The Milanese club had obtained the first almost 50 years ago, in 1966, at the time of the so-called “Great Inter” coached by Helenio Herrera.
