On the last dive the head of the best player in the field, the central defender Coppola, resolves a battle for safety which ends with a celebrating Bentegodi. The Scala players pushed with all their potential, they even hit two woodwork, but they found themselves faced with a real wall erected by Mister Cioffi. Udinese’s defense held up and left little space for the yellow and blue attackers, on one of these Coppola rushed in and gave Verona three platinum points. The visitors not only defended but also created a couple of golden opportunities to take the lead. Lucca’s negative evening, present on the ball but not very precise with his shot, was however decisive in leaving the result unchanged. For the rest, the two teams had more of the classic fear of losing than the desire to win and all this was evident from the very attentive performances of both defenses. At the start, Payero sends it high (5′), Magnani misses the target with his right foot (7′), a header from Cabal misses the target (22′), Payero’s right-footed shot (25′) is deflected into a corner . In the 27th minute, the first goal with Lucca who exalts Montipò then Samardzic shoots out again (33′). Ehizibue miraculously closes Noslin then, at the end of the half (44′) a delicious scoring ball for Verona: header by Noslin, following the development of a corner and the ball hits the post.
The second half
In the second half, Serdar dirty Okoye’s gloves in the 5th minute but immediately afterwards Lucca shoots again, right-footed, after a suggestion from Samardzic. Empoli’s salvation victory, Napoli collapses and is contested
In anticipation of the 33rd matchday of Serie A, Empoli beat Napoli 1-0, gaining three very precious points with a view to salvation. At Castellani the decisive man is Alberto Cerri, capable of punishing a listless and idealess Naples. In the second half the guests tried to react, despite struggling to raise their pace of play; on the other side the Tuscans defend themselves with order, then relying on the counterattack. In the 67th minute Kvaratskhelia shows up, whose shot is, however, neutralized by a super intervention from Caprile. The arrivals of Ngonge, Raspadori and Simeone did not light up a Napoli team, which was too ugly and never dangerous in the final stages of the match. Empoli thus legitimizes the victory, playing a tactically tidier and more intense game. With this success, the team coached by Nicola rises to fifteenth place, temporarily extending their lead over third-last Frosinone to four points.
