With a note shared on its social channels and on the product’s official website, Half announced a definitive price cut for its Meta Quest 2a standalone viewer (i.e. one that doesn’t need a computer or external monitor to work) that was launched in October 2020. At the same time, the prices of all its accessories are also reduced.
The headset was recently offered with discounts and Meta has now confirmed that the price on offer actually becomes the new definitive price.
The one announced for the USA is $199which we imagine will settle at €249 here in Italyas per the official store.
At launch, Meta Quest 2 was priced at $299 for the entry level 64GB version and $399 for the 256GB version. Later, the 128 GB version was replaced by a 128 GB one, maintaining the same price.
However, in 2022 we have seen a Price increase for Meta Quest 2which Meta defined as necessary to be able to continue operating due to the increase in production costs.
The 128GB model it thus reached $399until the cut to $299 in June 2023 and the confirmation of these days that you will now pay $199.
In October 2023 it was launched Meta Quest 3heir to this model, which instead has a list cost of €549.99.
