The Sicilian Region will use artificial intelligence to prevent fires

Artificial intelligence for fire prevention in Sicily seems to have the upper hand. This decision will allow the Forestry Corps to “make use of artificial intelligence-based fire protection systems that combine intelligent sensors, machine learning algorithms and data analysis to prevent and manage fires more efficiently”
“Technological innovation can certainly make processes more efficient.” stated Josè Marano. “It is important that the public administration equips itself with systems that can facilitate work in the management of public affairs and the fire prevention sector certainly falls into this area. It is essential for our island to reduce the phenomenon that every year devastates hectares of forests, which undermines our economy and which has caused loss of human lives. Our land can no longer afford it. I am satisfied that my amendment was appreciated by the entire commission and by the government and included in the rewriting of article 19″.
