Serious accident in Castel San Pietro for an eighteen-year-old Swiss resident in Mendrisiotto who yesterday evening, shortly after 10.30pm, fell disastrously to the ground.
According to the reconstruction of the cantonal police, the young man, coming from Morbio Superiore, was traveling in the direction of Castel San Pietro. For reasons that the investigation will have to establish, when making one of the curves after the Castello bridge, he widened his trajectory, hitting the cableway on the left, losing control of the motorbike and falling to the ground. Due to the violent impact, he subsequently grazed the side of a car that was traveling regularly and finally against the corner of a garage.
Officers from the Cantonal Police and, in support, from the City of Mendrisio Police intervened on site, as well as rescuers from the Mendrisiotto Auto Ambulance Service (SAM) who, after providing initial treatment to the 18-year-old, transported him by ambulance to the hospital. According to initial medical assessments, he suffered serious injuries.
