Bocce volleyball, 58 Cuneo squares at the 71st Targa d’Oro of Alassio – The Guide

There are 58 teams from the Granda province who will play at 8am tomorrow, Saturday 20 April 71st Alassio Gold Plaque. A great event for which the clubs and athletes have been preparing for weeks, with the charm and unpredictability of using the playing fields, even in places not usually frequented by bowling enthusiasts.

The numbers speak clearly: 224 squares, 896 athletes and a large number of enthusiasts who will reach Liguria in the hours before the competition.

Piedmont will show up at the starting line with 152 formations with the committees of Wedge And Turin great protagonists with 58 squares each.

The 2023 edition it was won by the French of La Bourguesanne (Sebastien Leiva Marcon, Romain Garcia, Fabien Amar, Patrice Landraud) in the final against Bocce Mondoví (Nicolas Pretto, Giorgio Cavallo, Mauro Carello, Luca Baccino).

At the same time, the couples from the team will also take to the field Pink license plate and of Junior plate.

In the women’s field (starting Saturday at 1.30pm) there are 33 teams registered. Piedmont is represented by 19 teams (Cuneo and Torino 9, Asti 1).

Among young people (pool starts Saturday at 1.30 pm) 29 couples (18 Piedmontese – Cuneo 8, Turin 7, Asti 3).

This year one novelty: the development, in the afternoon and evening on Fridayfrom the first edition of Mixed platespecial event that the Italian Bowls Federation wanted to combine it with the historic Alassio event.

Competing for the victory will be eight high-level couples, made up of some of the strongest Italian players around, including athletes from the Italian national teams. As the Fib writes, it is a formula, that of “Him & Her”, which rarely finds space in the competitive calendar, but which on an international level has already given Italy important laurels.

Also in this edition the Encore platea match reserved for the teams defeated in the first two rounds and which will start on Saturday at 3pm.
