Overpass accident, serious motorcyclist in hospital: traffic in chaos

Genoa. A 63-year-old motorcyclist was taken to Galliera hospital in serious condition after being involved in an overpass accident.

The man collided with a car while traveling on the eastbound road. The accident occurred around 5pm, and an ambulance and medical vehicle attended the scene together with the local police.

In the collision the motorcyclist suffered a spinal injury and a pelvis injury, and was transferred to the hospital under code red for checks. His condition is serious, but his life is not in danger. The repercussions on traffic were severe: the road was temporarily closed in the east direction, and at 6pm there were long queues in the west direction. Consequences also on motorway traffic, with queues between junction A7/A12 Genoa-Livorno and Sampierdarena.

Still remaining on the motorway, the situation does not improve on the A10. Due to an accident between the junction with the A7 and Pegli, in the direction of Ventimiglia, a 4 kilometer queue formed. Queues also on the A7 between Bolzaneto and the connection with the A12, and on the A7 between the eastern toll booths and the junction with the A7.
