The Lombardy Regional Administrative Court agrees with the Municipality of Milan on the tender for new taxi licenses which the taxi drivers’ associations had appealed against. According to the administrative court, “considering that the proposed damage is of a patrimonial nature and would be fully compensated if the appeal is accepted, the Municipality has the right to proceed and assign the new licenses”, as stated in the sentence which does not accept the request to suspend the tender , which Palazzo Marino published last March without waiting for the court ruling. The TAR then sets the hearing for 12 December 2024 to discuss the merits of the appeal. The notice published by the Municipality concerns the issue of 450 taxi licenses for consideration. Three hundred licenses will be of the ordinary type and provide for a contribution of 96,500 euros each, while the other 150 will have a subsidized contribution: 50 will be allocated to vehicles specially equipped for the transport of people with disabilities (contribution of 77,200 euros), 50 will be tied to the commitment to carry out the service in the evenings, at night and on weekends for five years from the date of assignment (contribution of 67,550) and 50 licenses will be reserved for those who meet both criteria (contribution of 57,900 euros).
