Mozzarella from Gioia del Colle, a supply chain meeting on Monday to promote the product

Create a system and supply chain to promote mozzarella cheese Of Gioia del Colle DOP. In May 2022 the Consortium for the Protection of Mozzarella di Gioia del Colle obtained ministerial recognition with which he was given the task of carrying out the functions of protection and promotion of Protected Designation of Origin which represents the dairy sector of the Gioia area and 16 municipalities in the Murgia area.

In addition to the commitment to promote and enhance the production of Mozzarella DOP, the program of activities launched by the Consortium includes animation initiatives in the area recognized as a denomination, aimed at involving production and processing companies in the certified supply chain.

Precisely aimed at this objective is a meeting organized next Monday in Gioia del Colle at the headquarters of Consortium.

All the certified companies, the public administrations representing the entire PDO territory (Mayors of the 16 municipalities in the province of Bari, the 6 municipalities in the province of Taranto and the municipality of Matera), LAGs, political representatives were invited to the meeting. and technicians from the regional Department of Agriculture, certification body, technicians from the University of Bari etc.

The occasion is intended to be a prerequisite for dialogue between people actors in the supply chain and the relevant institutions, to examine the various aspects of the protections, present the paths taken, illustrate the planned objectives, hypothesize future plans, analyze potential market outlets using gastronomic tourism and develop new ideas for the best promotion of the PDO Mozzarella di Gioia of the Hill.
