Death of Lorenzo Brogioni, two sentences for the accident caused with the stolen motorbike

Six months later, the first sentence for that tragedy arrived. The investigating judge of the Florence court Gianluca Mancuso imposed an abbreviated sentence (which provides for the reduction of a third of the sentence) an 8-year prison sentence for Mohamed Harathi, the 24 year old who was driving the motorbike. Instead, he was sentenced to 5 years and 8 months Ayoub Rezgi, aged 19who was one of the passengers.

Both were also sentenced to pay damages to the victim’s family and the owner of the BMW motorbike stolen that night in Via degli Alfani. For the victim’s partner, parents and sister, the investigating judge established a total compensation of 400 thousand euros.

The 23 year old who was driving the motorcycle he is accused of aggravated theft, multiple aggravated homicide for driving without a license, against traffic and at a speed of over 90 km per hour and for causing injuries to the minor, second passenger. The other passenger is instead charged with the crime of cooperation in vehicular homicide “for having unintentionally caused the death of Brogioni”.
