Liguria, agriculture: tenders promoted for olive groves and vineyards up to 5.85 million euros

Expand environmental actionswith resolution of the Council on the proposal of the vice president and councilor for Agriculture, of CAP Strategic Plan (PSP) 2023-2027 to give an answer to the olive and wine sector. The remodulation approval is being verified by the European Commission; so the tenders are open under conditions.

“This is 2.1 million for the grassing of tree crops (intervention SRA05-ACA5) which provides annual premiums per hectare of surface area of ​​up to 690.50 euros for the consolidation of the sward – explains the councilor – The presence of vegetal cover during the year reduces soil erosion as it attenuates the impact of rainfall on the soil, limits surface water runoff, improves resilience to extreme events and adaptation to climate change. Another open measure, always subject to the approval of the European Commission, is that of the protection of tree crops with environmental and landscape value (measure SRA25-ACA25) which supports with a financial endowment of 3.75 million euros the maintenance or recovery of olive groves or vineyards located in areas of landscape and environmental value and subject to risk of abandonment. For olive groves the expected premiums reach 985 euros per hectare and for heroic vineyards up to 1217 euros per hectare per year. The protection of these crops in certain areas is fundamental for the environmental and landscape functions they perform, as well as for preventing phenomena such as hydrogeological instability, fires and the spread of plant diseases. In total, the allocation for both measures would be 5.85 million with submission of applications until May 15th on the software prepared on SIAN (National Agricultural Information System) by AGEA (Agency for Agricultural Payments)”.
