A new flight will connect Turin airport to Istanbul“gateway” to much of the world, especially the Eastern one.
The new connection, operated by Turkish Airlineswill be active starting from 10 July 2024. The connection will be operational every day of the week with a plane that will depart from Istanbul and land in Turin and then immediately complete the reverse route.

The new daily route allows direct access to Istanbulas well as the opportunity to continue the journey towards 348 other destinations both in Turkey and in Africa, the Americas, the Middle East and the Far East, all included in Turkish Airlines’ extensive network.

«The opening by Turkish Airlines of the route to Istanbul – explains Andrea Andorno, CEO of Torino Airport – represents an expansion of the network of great value for Turin. This adds a hub towards the East which, due to its geographical location, represents an excellent transit point for connections. Likewise, this flight constitutes an opportunity for further tourist growth for Piedmontwhich can be reached from all destinations that are part of the Turkish Airlines network.”

The announcement was received with particular satisfaction by Alberto Cirio: «The new flight represents a further strengthening of Turin airport as well as a confirmation of how increasingly attractive this area is» explains the President of the Region, who then reveals a “backstory”: «It is a result that we have worked towards in recent months, together with Sagat, with strong institutional support work, by myself and the mayor of Turin, with a close dialogue that had the aim of illustrating to the airline the great economic potential and tourism in Turin and Piedmont. Potential that the company was able to experience first-hand a few weeks ago, on the occasion of Connect, the airport business convention, which we wanted to organize in Turin, aware of how strategic it was to support the growth of our airport system”. «I also like to remember – concludes Cirio – that the “adventure” of this flight was born from a moment of solidarity and help between peoples. In fact, it was the humanitarian mission of the Piedmont Regional Civil Protection, which donated a field hospital to the Turkish population hit by the earthquake in February 2023, which allowed us to intensify institutional relations between the Piedmont Region and the Turkish Government through embassies”.
