New price list for Sky’s Sports and Football packages, starting from 1 June. Bad news for consumers, who will see all rates rise. According to what was reported by Calcio e Finanza, starting from June 1st there will be an increase, with the Sports package which will increase by 6.90 euros per month and the Football package which will increase by 3 euros per month for the Smart and Open price lists.
Smart subscriptions, those with a discounted price for 18 months, will cost 22.90 euros of Sport per month (the starting point is 16 euros), while Open subscriptions, i.e. the more flexible and without constraints, will cost 26 90 euros per month (starting from 20 euros).
But it doesn’t end here: as far as the old price list the increase will be 7.99 euros per month for the Sports package and 3.99 euros per month for the Football package. Sky’s choice comes after seven years without changes, with the only remodeling dating back to 2021 which was downwards, with the cost of the Football package being reduced by 10 euros following the new agreement for the TV rights of Serie A, with DAZN as the main player.
Speaking of football broadcasting starting from next season, 2024/25, European cups will be a Sky exclusive (with the exception of the best Champions League match on Wednesday evening, in the hands of Amazon). 185 matches of the new UEFA Champions League will be broadcast on Sky, together with all the Europa League and Conference League matches, also with the new 36-team format. Serie A will instead remain co-exclusive with DAZN until 2029.
For customers who will be affected by the price increase, it will still be possible to cancel the Sports and Football packages without additional costs until 30 June 2024.
