Emergency crews are on desperately trying to put out the firewhile dramatic images and videos on social media show the columns of thick smoke which rise into the air as flames envelop the building. The area around the building has been cordoned off and is currently still there the causes of the disaster are unknown.
In addition to the spire, they are several parts of the roof collapsed. The work to put out the flames is very difficult because the Old Stock Exchange had a copper roof, under which rescuers could not pass.
