The City Council, on 15 April, approved with 19 votes in favor and 4 against the reformulation of the multi-year rebalancing maneuver, with which the duration of the plan to reduce the deficit of the Municipality of Lecce is redetermined. Thanks to the use of resources recognized, on the proposal of the ANCI, to the Municipalities that signed recovery pacts with the central government as part of the 2024 Finance Law (paragraphs 470 and 474), the Municipality of Lecce can accelerate the path of the rebalancing procedure .
The restoration activity that began in January 2019 with the approval of the multi-year rebalancing plan approved by the City Council, already reformulated in 2023 in line with the provisions of the Pact for Lecce, signed with the Government in 2022. Also for the 2015 maneuver, relating to the settlement of the deficit from the extraordinary reassessment of the residues, the early conclusion is established in 2030 rather than in 2044 as was initially expected.
The reformulation of the rebalancing maneuver allows the institution to return to ordinary management of its budget for 2028. This will mean the newfound possibility of taking out mortgages to finance public works, of freeing up resources to increase the amounts allocated to maintenance, services, cultural and entertainment initiatives and for the possible reduction of the tax burden.
