Sorrento, Achille Lauro car park: increase in bus fares, here are the new prices
The Municipality of Sorrento increases fares for buses that stop at Achille Lauro car park, the largest in the city. The objective, as explained by the council of mayor Massimo Coppola, is to “adapt prices to those of other tourist locations“, discourage prolonged parking of vehicles and encourage greater rotation of parking spaces.
The stop for loading and unloading will be free for iplast 15 minutes (previously you paid 3 euros). For the first hour or fraction of an hour thereafter, the rate goes up to 50 euroswhile for each subsequent hour or fraction of an hour they will have to pay 30 euros (previously 10 euros per hour from 7am to 9pm and 40 euros flat rate for the night).
No variationand instead for cars: you pay 2 euros per hour for the first three hours, 3 euros thereafter. Parking is free between 7pm and midnight. The allowance for the first 30 minutes is confirmed. Rates unchanged also for mopeds (2 euros per hour) and for season tickets.
The increase in bus fares, effective from today, was decided after recording a notable increase in inflows during the past tourist season and holidays. “With this measure – concludes the note from the Municipality – we want to protect the institution and guarantee better use of the car park by all operators in the sector, also avoiding burdening traffic in the area”.
