What happened this morning in Ravenna could have been a tragedy with dramatic consequences. A man, shortly before 11am, tried to set fire to the petrol pump of the petrol station in Piazza Caduti sul Lavoro, at the beginning of Via Trieste. According to initial information, he spread the fuel on the ground from the dispenser, setting it on fire, shouting “I’ll set everything on fire. I set everything on fire.”

The manager and some passers-by noticed what was happening and raised the alarm and intervened. Fire Brigade, Carabinieri, State Police and Local Police of Ravenna and 118 rushed to the scene. The area was made safe.

The regions of the gesture are unknown. The man was stopped and taken to the police station.
