ROME, APRIL 16 – The Repatriation Center (CPR) for Liguria will be built in the former Camandone army barracks in Diano Castello, decommissioned in 1999. Even if the Prefecture of Imperia has not yet communicated the official nature of the decision taken from the Ministry of the Interior, according to authoritative sources there are no longer any doubts. The news leaked yesterday, when at the end of a meeting with the prefect of Imperia Valerio Massimo Romeo, the mayors of the Dianese Gulf, who together with trade associations and citizens created the ‘No Cpr Committee’ declared “the absolute opposition to the decision taken at ministerial level to locate the center inside the former Camandone barracks in Diano Castello”, reserving the right to produce a further document, after the one sent last October directly to the Minister of the Interior Matteo Piantedosi to state his opposition . “Furthermore – they say – the Committee will meet as soon as possible to identify further counteractions to be undertaken”.
