Thefts and break-ups of commercial activities do not stop in Bologna, not only in the historic center, with the prompt response of the police who in the night between Monday and Tuesday arrested a 35-year-old Italian citizen, caught red-handed in a grocery store in via Salvini, in the San Donato district. The alarm was triggered by a report from a resident who noticed an individual trying to break into the nearby Democratic Party club, damaging the shutter and front door. Shortly afterwards the man headed towards Via Salvini and here he was stopped by the police, his hand still bloodied following the smashing of the shop window. The same person, the previous day, had already been reported on the loose because he was held responsible for the break-in to another business in the centre. The extraordinary work of the police headquarters is therefore incessant, with at least 30 men and women on the field at every shift, daily, to respond to this phenomenon, but not only. Starting from drug dealing in some areas considered hot, such as the historic center, the university area, Bolognina and the station. “We thank the citizens for the diligence with which they call us and send reports – explains Emanuela Arcioni, director of the General Prevention and Public Rescue Office of the Bologna Police Headquarters -. The balance of the last day of activity, in addition to the arrest in the San Donato area, also includes the arrest of an irregular Tunisian found with a knife and a backpack with a kilo of hashish already divided and of over 170 identified people, with the seizure , between Montagnola and the station, of another hectare of narcotic substance, as well as another backpack with watches, bracelets and cell phones, probably stolen.
