The cycle promoted by the Territory-Environment working group of the local PD will continue with the southern area and the hamlets
The second meeting took place on Sunday 14 April “Senigallia Green”promoted by Territory-Environment working group of the Senigallia PD and open to all.
A cycle of events that aims to examine and raise awareness of urban green areas present in the city and how they can be integrated with increasingly sustainable mobility.
This meeting was about northern part of the city and with the contribution of passionate professionals we went to rediscover those urban green areas that we thought we knew and which instead surprised and amazed us. Going through the north seafront we lingered and enjoyed the many dune areas that we find along the coastal environment, on the other hand mainly vehicular traffic is difficult to reconcile with sustainable mobility guaranteed by safe routes. The route then touched that wide one green area of approximately 2000 m2 known as “Mickey Mouse Forest”a green lung within the industrial area of Cesanella unknown to most people it should be redeveloped to make it more usable also for recreational purposes. Then moving on to the big one Cesanella park we have seen up close the many potentials of this area which extends for approximately 16 hectares. The route ended at Peace parka meeting place so dear to the city.
The experience carried out is located within a path of study, listening, knowledge and in-depth analysis which we have been undertaking for several months, open to all, because we think that only with participation and an overall vision can we develop a serious and far-sighted city proposal. How can we make Senigallia one “home” improve in which to live, a more beautiful, healthy and livable place to leave to our children and grandchildren?
Urban and natural environment, sustainable mobility, housing policies for young people and families are not secondary issues compared to healthcare or the economy. Taking care of the environment where we live is taking care of our health, not wasting resources and using them intelligently means saving money.
The Next appointment will see us travel the green areas south of Senigallia and to follow the fractions and theirs cycle connections with the city. In the meantime, the group’s work continues through meetings and initiatives open to all, hoping for ever-increasing involvement for the good of the city.
