LIVORNO – The final score of 80-73 should absolutely not be misleading: the Libertas in Legnano he won easily with the hosts reducing the gap to under 10 points only in the final minutes after the troop of Andreazza it had also reached +22 (50-72).

The Amarantos conceded just one lead to Legnano (the initial 2-0), then a basket from Williams, and a triple each from Fratto and Allinei gave the break (2-8) which later proved decisive. Andreazza’s zone created many problems for the Lombards whose body language revealed all the difficulties in attacking an adequate and attentive defense. Closing the first half at +10 (18-8) Libertas pushed themselves to +19 (38-19) before Marino’s triple almost at the siren sent everyone to the locker rooms at 38-22 for the guests.

Considerations: nine players sent onto the pitch by Andreazza in the first 20′ and nine players on target. In the second part of the match Legnano tried to come back, but in the third quarter his minimum deficit was 13 points. In the last fraction Libertas extended their lead to +22, then Legnano with three triples in a row had a prolonged jolt until the end, but Fantoni and his teammates never trembled and closed with ease.

With this success Libertas was awarded the second place in the standings and next Sunday’s derby – with Pielle certain of first place – will only be good for lovers of statistics.
