VERONA – Vinitaly, today is the day of the Prime Minister’s visit Giorgia Meloni. President Luca Zaia donated a Veneto flag to the prime minister, who this morning visited the Region’s stand at Vinitaly in Verona. «It is the only flag in the world that carries the word peace inside»the governor said.
«I know how much you care about the issue of peace – he continued, addressing the prime minister – and therefore, as we say, “tanks in stock” and forward with diplomacy».

The Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni was welcomed at the entrance to the fair by the ministers Lollobrigida, Valditara and Santanchè, by the President of Veneto Luca Zaia and by the mayor of Verona Damiano Tommasi. Meloni entered the Verona fair district without making any statements. The program of Meloni’s visit includes a meeting in the fair’s auditorium with students from agricultural institutes, then a tour of the Vinitaly pavilions, starting with those of Masaf and the Veneto Region.
«These are somewhat complex days but I particularly wanted to be here today making a significant effort in these curious days for several reasons», explained Meloni. The prime minister stressed that she had gone «to reiterate once again the value and centrality that this government attributes to the world of agriculture, to the possibility for our farmers to continue to produce excellence while seeing the right price recognized».
National Made in Italy Day
«I’m happy to be here for the premiere national day of Made in Italy, a day that this government wanted, to underline the value that Made Italy has and this can be told by those who have traveled a lot and have been able to verify this in the world – Giorgia Meloni further explained. In that law we put resources to support the sector»added the prime minister, recalling that «it is no coincidence that we wanted to set this date on the day of the birth of Leonardo, perhaps the greatest Italian genius».
«We must guarantee increasingly better education, I thank Minister Valditara for the work done on technical and professional institutes, and on the Made in Italy high school: they can say what they want but you keep Italian culture and identity standing with what you have chosen to study, thank you for what you will do, to tell the story of Italy in the world», the prime minister then said, addressing herself to students of agricultural institutes.
Farmers, the first to defend nature
«Whoever thought that nature could be defended by not taking into account the work of farmers or even thinking of doing so against farmers simply didn’t know what they were talking about. Because farmers are the first bioregulators and we must remember that to defend the environment the work of man is fundamental, those who think that to defend the environment we must chase away man imagine a world that does not exist. In the real world we need the work of man to defend our nature and our ability to pass it on to the younger generations».
