Another accident on the regional road 56 between Mossa and Lucinico, this time on Friday evening, fuels residents’ concern about the situation. On the evening of April 7th at 9.30pm, in fact, another bad accident was recorded at the intersection between via Camposanto and via alla Stesa, which intersects the artery. «Accidents on this straight are now repeated with frightening frequency» comment Segio Medeot and Claudio Franzò, on behalf of the signatories of the petition against speeding.
«So let’s ask again the question that has been asked for years: what still needs to happen for the Municipality of Mossa, that of Gorizia and Fvg Strade to do something to regulate this intersection and the out of control speed that rages on this road? It is incredible that those who have the main duty to protect the safety and liveability of citizens do not realize the threat that looms daily on this straight. So far, neither the warnings, nor the reminders, nor the complaints have been enough.”
The two also highlight the same «popular petition to make it clear that urgent action must be taken on this stretch, before we even see a few dead people on the ground. On the part of those who live in via Olivers, via Udine and via alla Stesa there is anger and disbelief at seeing such inattention. It was recently placed at this intersection a sign with the written “SR 56 – Enough Speed!!!”. The hope was that there would be a surge of responsibility, which incredibly is not seen.”
