Amadeus is seriously considering the possibility of leaving Rai and joining Canale Nove. Like Fabio Fazio, the host of Sanremo and Affari Tui also complains of not being well seen by everyone inside the headquarters in Viale Mazzini. This fact may seem incredible, considering that it was Rai itself that entrusted him with the hosting of the last five Sanremo Festivals, with record ratings, and of the popular game show Affari Tui.
Despite the rumors circulating that his possible departure could only be a strategy for renewing his contract, sources close to him assure that the decision to leave Rai is almost 90 percent made. Rai, however, already has a plan B ready in case Amadeus actually decides to leave, to avoid finding itself unprepared.
Who will replace Amadeus?
And so, for some time there has been discussion about the possible replacement of Amedeo Sebastiani, known as Amadeus, for the hosting of the next Sanremo Festival. This is a very important assignment, considering the success of the latest editions with record ratings and advertising revenues. Rai is ready for this change, since Amadeus has already declared that he would not host a sixth festival. Therefore, Carlo Conti will take his place, thanks to his skills as a presenter and his experience with Rai. With his past as a DJ, Conti presents himself as the ideal host after Amadeus.
The second substitute
Replacing Amadeus in the management of Affari Tuoi presents itself as an extremely complicated task. The broadcast has always been a pillar of Rai, capable of achieving surprising audience and advertising revenue results with each successive host, from Paolo Bonolis onwards. Even Flavio Insinna’s out-of-state scandal failed to stop its unstoppable success.
However, the television company believes it is necessary to make a change, and it seems that the solution is already ready: Stefano De Martino. Belen Rodriguez’s ex-husband demonstrated his hosting skills with Tonight Everything is Possible, even though it is a very different format from Affari Tuoi. Rai seems to be ready to bet on him as the face of the future of broadcasting, in case Amadeus really does abandon the helm.
