Central explosion, firefighters: “Last victim found near turbine”

“The last victim was found on floor -9, near the turbine. She wasn’t far behind the others. Two missing people worked on the eighth floor and were taken to the ninth, the other two were surprised by the explosion because they were found near their workstation”. This was stated by Giuseppe Petrone, national manager of the fire brigade’s diver service , during the third press conference organized at the Bargi hydroelectric power station where an explosion killed seven workers on Tuesday 9 April. “The scenario was difficult but this morning we managed to find the last missing person, all found on floor -9. We put 18 divers to work who took turns operating during the night and during the day.”
