Stellantis Melfi: the meeting at Mimit moved to May 3rd

April 2nd the future of the plant should have been discussed Stellantis Melfi at the Ministry of Business and Made in Italy. This is an important event to talk about what will happen to the important production site in light of the recent staff redundancies through voluntary exit incentives that were announced in recent days.

Stellantis Melfi: the table at Mimit moved from 2 April to 3 May

In the past few hours the April 2nd appointment to talk about Stellantis Melfi has been postponed to May 3rd. The move, apparently, does not concern issues relating to Stellantis but is due to the desire to avoid an overlap with the electoral campaign for the Puglia region and for the renewal of the regional council.

Consequently, the first appointment at Mimit for Stellantis will be on April 3rd where the future of the Stellantis plant in Mirafiori will be discussed. The next day we will talk about Atessa and then in the following days also about Cassino, Pomigliano d’Arco, Modena, Termoli. For Stellantis Melfi we will therefore have to wait until May 3rd.

We remind you that the unions are asking for certainties about the future of the factory where the Fiat 500X, Jeep Renegade and Jeep Compass are currently produced but which in the future will host the production of electric cars. These will be 4 or 5. Among them there new Lancia Gamma, two cars from DS Automobiles and the probable successor to the Jeep Compass. It also had to be produced the new Opel Manta but the plans of the German house seem to have changed. For the unions, however, this is not enough to guarantee full employment in the factory. In fact, electric cars require much less staff and therefore a few more models or a return to combustion vehicles would be needed to offer greater peace of mind to factory employees and also to related industries.
