Life is Strange: A disturbing Easter egg found 9 years after its release

It seems like only yesterday that we were playing Life is Strange as Max Caulfield, manipulating time as I tried to unravel the events in Arcadia Bay. Ten years later, however, we have far from forgotten our beloved protagonist, her misadventures and above all of our bad decisions.

Regardless of whether you managed to save her or not, in fact, you will surely remember Kate Marsha student at Blackwell Academy and a devout Christian. Well, even though 9 years have passed, some have found a disturbing easter egg involving her in the original game just now.

As seen on the Life is Strange Fans Twitter/X account (taken from Reddit user JennyVanille’s post), Max is seen in Episode 2 in Mr. Jefferson’s classroom, coincidentally discussing Kate’s absence (for those who don’t remember or haven’t played Life is Strange, Kate Marsh, who is a shy and deeply religious character, is going through a really tough time after a video of her kissing strangers at a party goes viral, leaving her in a precarious emotional state and even to the point of wanting to take her own life).

While the class chats about his absence, through the classroom window Kate can be seen on the roof walking back and forth, reflecting on her life choices. It’s certainly not an easy Easter egg to spot, and it’s no surprise that it took fans of the game this long to discover it unless they knew where to look. Luckily, players can save Kate from her impending doom if they make the right decisions with the protagonist, Max… if they’re skilled enough.

If you’ve missed Max and all those difficult and often heartbreaking choices, come back once again in Life is Strange: Double Exposure on October 29, 2024.
