One of the surprises of the June 2024 Nintendo Direct was undoubtedly The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdoma new chapter in the series starring Princess Zeldawho will have to use her wits and a magical staff that allows her to replicate objects to save Hyrule from a catastrophe.
The game was presented with a trailer, which you can find in the player below. For the occasion, the release date on Nintendo Switch was also announced, set at September 26, 2024. A new Hyrule special edition model of the Nintendo Switch Lite will be available on the same day.
A different The Legend of Zelda than usual
As we can see in the trailer below, in The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom the kingdom of Hyrule is threatened by strange rifts that suck in everything they encounter, even poor Link. This time it will therefore be Zelda who will take on the role of protagonist and take charge of the fate of the world.
This gave Eiji Aonuma’s team the opportunity to invent a completely new gameplay. Zelda does not fight with sword, shield and bow, but she will be able to exploit the power of a magical staff that allows her to replicate objectssuch as tables, beds, rocks and even enemies, which can be deployed on the field to gain a hand in battle or overcome environmental puzzles.
This gives life to an incredibly vast range of actions and solutions, so much so that Aonuma himself states that he did not count all the objects that Zelda is able to replicate with magic and that the game was made in such a way that the adventure is different for each player.
