Google Maps: three tricks to know to use the app better

Google Maps continues to evolve over time. After years the app offers users different functions which are not limited to simple directions. These are very useful options that can change the driving experience, and not only that. There are some such functions, however unknown to several users who use Google Maps without knowing all its features. Being aware of the latter allows you to fully exploit them potential of the system. Let’s find out together what they are.

Google Maps: three fundamental tricks

The first is a function unknown to many users even if it was introduced in 2017. This is Google Maps’ ability to remember where are you parked. To proceed with activation you must stop the vehicle, interrupt navigation and select theblue color icon. The latter corresponds to the driver’s position. At this point just select the item “save parking” and a pin with the letter “ will appear on the mapP”. It is also possible to add notes such as, for example, the stall number or the parking level where your vehicle is located.

An additional useful function on Google Maps is “Live View”. The latter allows users on foot orient yourself in the street. Directions will be provided in Augmented reality along the route. To avoid getting lost, the system shows the nearby buildings, the road and even the turns to be taken. A really useful option that helps users even when they walk on foot and not just while I’m in the car.

Finally, a further trick to exploit is the one that allows you to orient yourself even when you are offline. In this regard, Google Maps allows you to download the map of the path to follow so it will also be possible to access it in absence of connection to the internet. In this way it will be possible to follow the route at any time. The process doesn’t take up much space in the internal memory of the device. In fact, even the largest routes (such as in metropolitan cities) do not weigh more than 1GB. Useful detail that favors the use of the function on Google Maps.
