Sony distributed thePlayStation 5 update 24.04-09.40.00with the console that from today will offer new options to players accustomed to using Discord during their gameplay sessions.
Although it was already usable via external devices, the Discord voice chat can now be directly exploited from the PS5 console, without having to go through the apps for PC or mobile devices to start the connection. Using the feature is simple: to get started, select the Game Base Discord tab in the PS5 control center and choose the Discord server or group chat you want to join. Then, select the desired voice channel. This way you can find out further details, such as who is already present in the channel. You will also receive a notification from the PS5 console when another Discord user calls you.
L’update will be rolled out gradually over the next few weeks to Japan and Asia, then to Europe, Australia/New Zealand, the Middle East and finally to the Americas. Naturally, you will need to have the updated version of the PS5 system and your PlayStation Network and Discord accounts will need to be linked (if you haven’t already done so, you can find out how to link them here).
Furthermore, starting from next week, the possibility of share your PlayStation Network profile on any messaging or social app. To do this, simply select “Share Profile” from the PlayStation App or PS5 console to generate a shareable link or QR code, and then send it to the recipient of your choice.
