The best games of the Guerrilla Collective: Tombi, but not only

The window on the Summer Game Fest opened with the barrage of Guerrilla Collectivethe digital conference where many projects, independent and otherwise, arrive on PC and console.

The event, which you can see in its entirety in the embed just below in this article, also involved some rather eagerly awaited names, including returns and completely unpublished ones.

To help you orient yourself, then, we decided to report the most interesting games that we saw during the showcase, in a mini-recap that makes it easier for you to catch up on their trailers and find out what they’re all about.

Let’s see, then, the best games of the Guerrilla Collective Showcase 2024.

Tomb! Special Edition

I’m biased, but I couldn’t help but quote it: Tombi! It’s one of the video games I think I’ve spent the most hours on in my entire life, and seeing it return in this edition which dusts off a great classic from the first generation of PlayStation has a certain effect on this writer.

This revisited version faithfully reproduces the 1:1 game, but with some improvements, such as the ability to save anywhereor interesting behind the scenes with the developers, complete with sketches from the artist team, and a revisited (iconic) soundtrack.

It will arrive August 1st on PC, PS5 and Nintendo Switch, followed by PS4.

Five Nights at Freddy’s: Into the Pit

Unmissable, here is also a new episode of Five Nights at Freddy’s, where we will be called upon to once again survive five terrifying nights. Oswald, in fact, eager for a slightly less tedious life, slips into the pit full of balls in the pizzeria and will find himself catapulted into the past and will be able to literally travel through time.

A fascinating idea, if it weren’t for the fact that even in the past there is something that wants to kill him… and the people he cares about.

Post Trauma

We remain in dark atmospheres for the new trailer of Post Traumawhich is inspired by classic horror from the golden days in which you play the role of Roman, a train driver called to try to escape a nightmarish alternate reality.

The gameplay will ask us to solve puzzles and face the disturbing creatures that will try to hunt us, and the atmosphere doesn’t seem bad at all, with its references to the masters of the genre of the 90s. Arrives in fall on PC, PS5 And Xbox Series.

Escape from Ever After

As you might imagine, Escape from Ever After It struck me because it has so much of the beloved saga in its style and mood Paper Mario (and not only that, there are plenty of quotes in the trailer!). It is a Role playing game which however mixes characteristics of several genres, where a corporation tries to take over the world of fairy tales to exploit the cheap labor of its inhabitants (!).

Our task, as heroes of the story, will be to climb the hierarchies of the corporation to destroy it from within, putting an end to its evil intentions. An idea that, between parody and ferocious social criticism, will be very interesting to follow.

It will be possible try the prologue for free on Steam from July 19th.

Slime Heroes

Very colourful, Slime Heroes is a 3D adventure game where the hero of the story is a slime (!), which can also be customized to your liking. Exploring the world in three dimensions, you will have the opportunity to play alone or cooperatively with a friend, tackling puzzles, battles and hunting for magical gems to combine to unlock new abilities.

The game world looks really delicious, the release is awaited on PC And Xboxbut a demo is already available on Steam.

Devilated

I would probably never play it, mostly because fast-paced shooters make me seasick, but for this very reason I think Devilated it could be interesting for those who love FPS games where the adrenaline flows in rivers and you move very quickly among the enemies to be eliminated.

Also thanks to an artistic direction that shows off a lot of personality, the game is currently in early access on Steam, while the full version will arrive in October.

Clock Tower: Rewind

Another round, another great return classic, with Clock Tower (originally released in 1995) which is preparing to polish itself up to tell us the story of Jennifer Simpson. This version Rewind wants to revive the excellent ideas of the original game, with some additions such as a new animated intro, sung songs, cut-scenes, interviews and behind-the-scenes galleries.

There will also be the possibility, which makes the game much more accessible to today’s players, to save using save-state. In short, a refresh that should allow you to rediscover a classic.

It will arrive in fall on PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox and Nintendo Switch.

The Axis Unseen

Described by the author (who worked on Skyrim, Starfield And Fallout) as a heavy metal horror gameit is a title open world in which, armed with your trusty bow, you have to massacre disturbing and folkloristic monsters.

You will therefore take on the role of the hunter, but when the rules are brutal you become the prey… The exit is waiting on PC next month October.

Yooka-Replaylee

You will definitely remember it Yooka-Laylee which a few years ago, with a successful Kickstarter campaign, set out to revive the classic platformers of the past. If you didn’t discover it in his time, you can now keep an eye on his revised and improved versionwhich will offer revised controls and also a less tedious camera.

Furthermore, the graphics sector is also in step with the times and new content has also been proposed for those who love challenges.

Wreckless

I spent many hours on skate games back in the day Tony Hawk’s Pro Skaterthat’s why I smile at the idea of Wrecklesswhich is proposed as an online skateboarding multiplayer. Think of it as an MMO on a board, where the Game world is generated by user creationswho will be able to enjoy arcade gameplay mechanics.

It will be possible to play with up to 50 players, customize your own board, your own skater and, as the game’s slogan suggests, what will count will be «skating, building and sharing».

It will arrive on PC infall next.
