CATANZARO – In the middle of last night, around 02:00, an unprecedented act of violence shocked the quiet Signorello neighborhood of Catanzaro. One resident, who prefers to remain anonymous for privacy reasons, described how her dogs barked incessantly during the night. Around 5 in the morning, driven by her curiosity, the woman asks her father to go out and she discovers the cause of all the commotion, only to find herself faced with a scene of cruel barbarity.
Three individuals, still unidentified, were seen fleeing the scene of the brutal incident, in which they inflicted atrocious torture on an innocent neighborhood puppy, affectionately known as “Pati”. The scene that appeared before the witness’s eyes was horrifying: the poor animal had been beaten, castrated and its tail had been cut off. “Pati” was a beloved member of the local community, sharing love and sympathy with all residents.
The woman promptly reported the incident to the competent authorities, contacting the Carabinieri. However, she felt forced to also appeal to the Fire Brigade to remove the animal’s tortured body from the road.
The reason behind this cruel act remains shrouded in mystery. However, it is hoped that surveillance cameras in the area will provide useful clues to identify those responsible and prevent similar atrocities from happening again in the future.
Since dawn, several calls have reached the police, including the Carabinieri, Fire Brigade and ASP, reporting the incident and requesting immediate intervention. However, as of the latest news, no relief has yet been provided.
The lady, deeply shocked by the incident, wanted to pay homage to her beloved “Pati” through a moving post on Facebook, sharing the pain and anger of the entire community: “My Pati… what harm did you do to deserve this end… You, the kindest and most cuddly dog in the world… the ferocity with which you were hit scares me…”
In a neighborhood shaken by horror, the only question that remains is: how can we ever feel safe knowing that there are those capable of committing such acts of brutality? “Pati” will be remembered as everyone’s smile, an innocent victim of human madness.

This morning the Police and ASP went to the site to carry out investigations and begin the investigation into the case.
