In an era characterized by crossovers and multi-purpose motorcycles, the timeless charm of motorbikes sports was partially obscured. However, the essence of raw power and performance remains alive in the hearts of many enthusiasts. Despite the proliferation of modern models, the search for an adrenaline-filled and exciting sports car can still be satisfied in the second-hand market, where the charm of past generations continues to shine. However, with a budget limited to 10,000 euros, what options are available? Let’s discover some interesting choices of used sports cars and their prices.

Yamaha YZF-R1

The Yamaha YZF-R1 is an icon of super sports bikes, with production dating back to 1998 (the year in which the first R1 revolutionized the very meaning of a sports bike, bringing engine performance and, above all, handling to a level never seen before. ). From next year the new R1s will no longer be approved for the road and this, although it is a sensible choice, leaves a bitter taste in the mouth. Luckily the used market still offers a lot of material.

The R1 will retire, it’s the end of an era. All the updates here.

Honda CBR 1000 RR Fireblade

Image

The Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade is one of the most respected super sports bikes (here is our video with the test of the new 2024), best known and with a long history of success on the track and on the road. It has passed through eras and fashions, it has experienced winning years in races, others not so much, it has innovated (it was one of the first to mount ABS) and has followed fashions, its exhaust, for example, was first lateral, then under the tail, then again next to it. In short, it has changed many skins, but every vintage brings with it something special.

2004-2005: €3,000 – €4,000 (172 HP)
2006-2007: €4,000 – €5,000 (178 HP)
2008-2010: €5,000 – €7,000 (178-188 HP)

Aprilia RSV1000R Factory

Image

The Aprilia RSV1000R Factory is an Italian excellence in the world of super sports bikes, with a mix of performance and cutting-edge technology. Equipped with a V2 engine that offered considerable power for those years, the Factory version represented the pinnacle of sportiness made in Noale thanks above all to the Ӧhlins suspensions offered as standard.
2006-2009: €4,000 – €4,500 (143 HP)
2010-2012: €5,000 – €6,000 (150-180 HP)

MV Agusta F4 1000S

Image

The MV Agusta F4 1000S (here is the story of how the F4 engine was born) represents the excellence of Italian design in the world of super sports cars, with a unique look and exciting performance. Characterized by a powerful engine and refined chassis, the F4 1000S still offers a driving experience that is not only high-performance but also “exclusive”. Its charm is timeless, as are almost all the creations of that genius Massimo Tamburini. With her we cross the threshold of 10,000, but given that it is a blank check also from a collecting perspective, we feel like offering it to you anyway.
2004-2005: €8,900 – €10,000 (166-174 HP)
2006-2007: €10,000 – €12,000 (174-183 HP)

Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R

Image

Equipped with a powerful 4-cylinder engine and a responsive chassis, the ZX-10R is considered one of the coolest bikes to ride by geeks. Wilder and perhaps more “raw” than a CBR, never as fashionable as the R1 for example. Yet successful like few others, ask Johnny Rea for references.

If you are a beginner, we recommend the Ninja 500, renewed just this year.

2008-2010: €5,000 – €7,000 (188 HP)
2011-2015: €7,000 – €9,000 (197-210 HP)

BMW S 1000 RR

Image

Years and years of comparisons tell us that the greatest advantage of the S 1000 RR is that it makes a rider fast straight away and with much less effort than its rivals. Thanks to a sincere chassis and above all to an engine that even when you feel like it’s not going fast… well, it goes quite fast!
2009-2011: €7,000 – €8,000 (193 HP)
2012-2014: €9,000 – €10,000 (193-199 HP)

Aprilia RSV4

Image

The Aprilia RSV4 was the first sports car with a V4 engine to arrive on the market. For its part, it offers extraordinary performance and sophisticated chassis. Its strong point has always been that of having highly advanced and always perfect electronics and a chassis that in every configuration has been able to emphasize the power of the engine. Nothing that we don’t already know: the number and architecture of the cylinders will also change, what doesn’t change is that Aprilia’s bikes have always known how to do them.

The RSV4 is now also available with a new very vintage livery, here it is.

2009-2011: €8,000 – €9,000 (180 HP)
2012-2015: €9,000 – €11,000 (180-201 HP)

KTM RC8

Image

It is probably the most underrated sports car in history. Extremely effective and yet little appreciated, perhaps due to that aesthetic which is too sharp, too modern, so to speak. too Kiska, which has never found complete favor with fans. Really a big shame.
2008-2010: €6,000 – €7,000 (155 HP)
2011-2013: €7,000 – €8,000 (175-177 HP)

Suzuki GSX-R 1000

Image

The history of the Gixxer is long and dotted with many successes and some records, such as being the first to introduce engine mapping (in reality, the first motorbike with maps was the Suzuki B-King, but the record still remains in Hamamatsu). It too, like the ZX-10R, is among the most appreciated by geeks depending on the year. Here is the test of the latest model on the price list.
2007-2008: €6,000 – €7,000 (185 HP)
2009-2011: €7,000 – €8,000 (185-190 HP)

Ducati 999

Image

The Ducati 999 experienced the same paradox as the RC8. Very fast, effective (and even winning: three world championships with Hodgson, Toseland and the legendary Troy Bayliss) and yet little appreciated. Perhaps because of that slightly too “futuristic” design created by Pierre Terblanche, but also, or perhaps above all, because it is squeezed between two aesthetic jewels, the 998 (last direct descendant of the legendary 916) and the 1098 of which now we’ll talk.
2003-2006: €7,500 – €8,500 (138 HP)

Ducati Panigale 1098

Image

Its debut represented Ducati’s return to beautiful bikes, really beautiful ones. The 1098, in fact, made fans of the red cry for a miracle, convinced that they were seeing a “modern reincarnation” of the 916 on the price list, a jewel that Tamburini consigned to history in 1994, a geological era ago. Beautiful, without a doubt, very compact, but also a winner: for her two SBK world championships in 2008 with the usual Bayliss and in 2011 with Carlos Checa.
2007-2009: €9,000 – €10,000 (160 HP)
