Have Intel’s Battlemage Xe2 and Celestial Xe3 GPUs been cancelled? An insider’s bombshell

Although in recent weeks the news about the arrival of new GPUs Intel Battlemage Xe2 had given rise to hope, a post published by the well-known insider Golden Pig Updrade has completely changed the cards on the table: according to the leaker, in fact, the next graphics cards from the American giant will feature the Xe2 architecture and, in cascade, the subsequent Celestial Xe3 they may arrive later than expected.

The Intel Arc Battlemage Xe2 GPUs will be an integral part of the proposal that will accompany the Lunar Lake series processors and, according to Intel’s plans, they should debut during this year. In recent weeks the news on the arrival of the new chips, complete with images, had given rise to hope and the first tests showed superior performance to the previous Alchemist and Alchemist+.

At the moment it is not clear whether Golden Pig Upgrade’s words concern integrated GPUs, dedicated ones or both families. According to Intel’s plans, Battlemage Xe2 GPUs should arrive later this year, while Celestial Xe3 GPUs should accompany the launch of Panther Lake CPUs in the second half of 2025.

A radical change of program like the one proposed by the insider would be a bad sign, especially given the results obtained by Intel on the integrated graphics front. The Mountain View giant has not provided any official information and we just have to wait for further news.
