PlayStation Plus Extra celebrates its best month of the year, thanks to a free gem

If the free games offered in April on PlayStation Plus Essential don’t seem to have convinced subscribers too much, users signed up to Extras and Premiums it seems they were very satisfied with the new proposals of the Game catalog in Aprilletting himself be won over in particular by a small pearl.

Among the most interesting free games of the month we had in fact reported the arrival of Dave the Diver on day-one on PlayStation, after it had already won over many fans on PC and Switch.

And it seems that users registered for PS Plus Extra (you can find a dedicated gift card on Amazon) have let themselves be won over by this gem, which has already become the most downloaded game of all 2024 on the subscription service.

According to data reported by GameInsights and reported on TrueTrophiesthe April lineup had an increase in downloads compared to April’s games even 60%: numbers possible above all thanks to Dave the Diver who, as we have already mentioned, now dominates the ranking of the most popular free titles on the Games Catalogue.

Another particularly popular game turned out to be a surprise Construction Simulatorwhich became the tenth most downloaded game of all of 2024 on PS Plus Extra.

Furthermore, almost all titles released in April ended up in the top 200 of the most played video games on PS5 and PS4: it hasn’t happened since July 2023as further confirmation of the fans’ appreciation for the catalogue.

And in this special ranking the other little gem on day one is also missing Tales of Kenzera ZAU: given that it was released only a few days later, there is not yet enough data available to evaluate its possible appreciation by the community.

We hope that these data bode well for the May line-up, hoping that the games redeemable on Essential will be appreciated more than those of the current month. In this regard, we remind you that they should be announced tomorrow.
