Pixel 8a without secrets. Seven years of operating system updates for him too

Pixel 8a will have its showcase during the Google I/O event to be held on May 14, but the revelations about it show no signs of abating. The official promotional video of the phone was published, then removed from YouTube for infringement of rights, but we also saw the marketing images which revealed some interesting features.

Among the most important there is certainly the reference to 7 years of operating system updatesas well as its bigger brothers Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro.

The 7 years are also offered by Samsung on the Galaxy S24 line, but the selling price could be in favor of the Pixel 8a. It is suspected that this could be slightly higher, but should fall around US$510. At the moment, on the US store the Pixel 7a is priced at 499 dollars, while in Italy it is 509 euros.

As reported by Android Headlines, which came into possession of the marketing material, the Pixel 8a will have the Best Shot function (which allows you to choose the best face of the subjects photographed in a series of shots taken in ten-second intervals), the Night Sight and Audio Magic Eraser to reduce unwanted sounds in videos.

There will also be Circle and Search, Call Filter to make the Google Assistant respond, and Summarize this email for Gmail, which is a new function with which it will be possible to obtain a summary of particularly long emails using AI (it may not be available immediately in Italy).

There will also be the Clear Call function to filter out background noise during phone calls. Obviously present is the Tensor G3 processor that accompanies the entire new Pixel line. The battery will take advantage of 18W fast charging.

Being a Pixel phone, you will be able to enjoy the Google One VPN (a service that will instead be discontinued for non-owners of the company’s phones). And the Pixel 8a will also be an IP67-rated phone.

The presentation of the Pixel 8a should take place on May 14th during the Google I/O keynote, with availability starting as early as May 16th.
