Resident Evil 9 would have been postponed internally, per a well-known leaker

The well-known leaker Dusk Golem – also known as AestheticGamer – shared new rumors on Resident Evil 9or the not yet announced chapter that should give a sequel to Resident Evil Village.

Dusk Golem had already previously spoken about the game, explaining that it will be an open world product, being part of a “trio” of games of this genre that are taking advantage of the renewed RE Engine (the others are Dragon’s Dogma 2 and Monster Hunter Wilds) .

Dusk Golem’s statement

Now, Dusk Golem says that a couple of years ago Capcom was aiming to present Resident Evil 9 this year and released in 2025, but according to new rumors he heard the game would be postponed for unclear reasons. The leaker states that this is actually not something strange for this saga, given that Resident Evil games are often postponed internally.

Maybe there will be another announcement before Resident Evil 9

Resident Evil Village is the most recent non-remake chapter

Dusk Golem himself states that he is not sure if these rumors are completely true. However, he states that Capcom might be interested in present another game in the saga before Resident Evil 9 and that such title will be published first.

The leaker makes it clear that this is not certain information and that he intends to investigate about it when he gets the chance.

AestheticGamer he is a leaker known for many years who has repeatedly shared information that has proven to be correct, especially regarding Resident Evil. Obviously what he reported remains a rumor and the fact that he himself specifies that the situation is not very clear pushes us to take the information with a grain of salt, but he still remains a credible source. We just have to wait for more news, official or otherwise.
