Password hint and real-time response reading coming soon

Gemini AI is about to gain new features on the Chrome browser, but also in the Android version, thus becoming an increasingly complete assistance solution.

We know that Google is integrating its AI into several products and may deliver soon Password tips on Chrome. Some proposed updates for Chrome, spotted in Google’s Gerrit code management system, suggest that Gemini could very soon generate strong passwords for users, making it easier to create online credentials.

The proposed code for Chrome indicates that AI-generated text will be displayed “next to a generated password, describing it as a hint”. This implies that the text suggested by Gemini will act as a support for the password generated by Chrome, it will not be the main source. Other parts of the update appear to point to improvements in the quality of the user experience, such as the ability to directly find the link to change your password or view the site’s requirements for passwords.

However, these Chrome updates are not yet live and there is no way to test them. Changes are listed as “WIP” (Work in Progress) in Gerrit and have not yet been reviewed by Chromium staff.

We close with the second news, the one that concerns the Gemini app for Android. A feature may be coming soon will allow users to read responses as they are generated, without having to wait for the entire text. What was discovered by AssembleDebug suggests that Google is working to add the improvement, thanks to which Gemini’s behavior will be the same as the web version.

Currently, when you ask Gemini a question on Android, the app analyzes it and then generates a complete answer. However, the user has to wait for the process to finish before they can read it and this can take some time, especially if the answers are quite long.

With the real-time response function, however, you will be able to see Gemini’s response being built piece by piece, just like in the web version, making the user experience more fluid

AssembleDebug even managed to enable the option for real-time responses in Gemini’s settings, as the top screenshot demonstrates, suggesting that the feature may be ready to be released in a stable version.

In addition to real-time responses, AssembleDebug discovered another new feature in Gemini’s settings: an option called “Use location from your device.” As the name suggests, this feature would allow users to manage Gemini’s access to their location.

Furthermore, we have you recently reported that Gemini could integrate your favorite music streaming service. But it’s not the only news coming, as we told you in our recent summary article.

Those that have emerged in recent days certainly represent significant developments, especially because Gemini lacks some features present in Google Assistant, and this could help bridge the gap between the two solutions.
