Helldivers 2 could come up Xbox Seriesat least according to the sources of Nick Baker of Xbox Era, according to whom Sony has started internal discussions to bring the game also to the Verdicrociate platforms after the great success achieved (and which is still enjoying) on PS5 and PC.
“We know that Playstation has a new CEO, who might be a little more open to certain things at the moment,” Baker said during the latest XboxEra podcast. “So what I’ve heard, again this is just a rumor, is that there may be some very very early preliminary discussions about the possibility of Helldivers 2 coming to Xbox.”
New CEO, new strategy?
Clearly for the moment we are in the realm of rumors and therefore we suggest you take the information above with a pinch of salt, something also suggested by Baker himself.
That said, a port of Helldivers 2 for Xbox might make sense. After all, we’re talking about a multiplayer based live service game and therefore needs a large user base to thrive. Consequently, the entry of additional players on the Xbox side would bring benefits to both the community and the developers of Arrowhead Games Studio and Sony.
After all, it is the same reasoning made by Microsoft with the arrival of Xbox exclusives such as Grounded and Sea of Thieves on PS5. Perhaps Sony could also embrace this strategy in the future upon input from interim CEO Hiroki Totokiwho in February declared that PlayStation must focus with greater conviction on a multiplatform approach.
