GTA 5 works on Nintendo Switch thanks to a group of modders: let’s see a short video
Descriptive text here

GTA 5 it somehow made its way up Nintendo Switcheven if it is not exactly an official port, at least the game seems to work on the Nintendo console: this thanks to the work of a group of modderswho have worked hard to try to achieve what Rockstar Games evidently has no intention of doing.

The modder group Superstar South published the post below on X, with a video in which we can see one of the first results of the work carried out, namely GTA 5 that works on Nintendo Switch, obviously provided that it is real material and not an assembly of some kind.

Obviously this is not a well-functioning build, but we cannot expect a group of volunteer modders to do the work of a multinational video game company, however it is already a good start, waiting to see any developments.

A good start

Considering that it also works on PS3 and Xbox 360, it’s likely that GTA 5 could work on Nintendo Switch

Superstar South reports, however, that the video shows more uncertainties and instability than there actually are on the console, perhaps because some additional slowdowns occur in the capture and recording process.

Furthermore, the work is carried out on a basis that is not strictly legal: the modders have in fact exploited the source code which was leaked online after being effectively stolen by a group of hackers who hit Rockstar Games, so the issue will probably take place in total secrecy, but from a technical point of view it is interesting.

The game crashes practically after the prologue, but the fact that the first part is at least playable, even if not exactly optimal, is already an excellent result. On the other hand, the source code was only released last December, so there are only a few months of work behind the project, with ample possibilities for improvement in the future.
