LittleBigPlanet 3: PS4 servers won’t be back online, it’s official

Sony has confirmed that LittleBigPlanet 3 for PS4 servers will not be reactivated. They had been offline for months in January this year due to some technical problems. Now, the company has definitively confirmed that we can give up: they won’t be coming back online.

Obviously it is a great disappointment for fans of the video game, who can no longer access the online contents of LittleBigPlanet 3. We are talking about a game that relies heavily on its community and ability to share created levels and to try those made by others.

It is specified that ours content saved on our PS4 they will still be accessible, but obviously that’s little consolation. Only what works when offline in LittleBigPlanet 3 is still accessible.

Sony’s full message on LittleBigPlanet 3

Creation options are only available offline

“Due to ongoing technical problems that led to the temporary offline taking of the servers of LittleBigPlanet 3 for PS4 in January 2024, it was decided to keep the servers offline indefinitely. All online services, including access to other players’ creations for LittleBigPlanet 3, are no longer available. User-generated content (UGC) stored locally on the PS4 will remain available. Any new UGC created can be played on the PS4 but not shared. Offline features, such as the campaign, will remain playable.”

We remind you that LittleBigPlanet 3 was not developed by the author of the first two chapters, MediaMolecule, but by Sumo Digital.
