It’s all about the contract. It is now clear how behind the divorce between Carlos Alcaraz e Juan Carlos Ferrero above all there were figures e clauses. And now there‘ex coach of the number 1 in the world reveals further details about the separation: “They sent me the new contractI didn’t agree with some things, I let him know and we couldn’t reach an agreement”. No negotiations, in short. According to Ferrero’s version, someone pushed to reach the agreement immediately break.
A concept that the former coach underlined in an interview with Marktriggering the reaction of Alcaraz’s father: “Everyone is free to express their opinion own opinion in base a what he knows“. A phrase that must not have pleased Ferrero, who decided to speak Stillthis time a RNE. In Spain, on the other hand, the sports press talks about nothing else. And all the attention is focused on that contract which blew up the winning partnership.
“When we came back from Bologna I had no idea what would happen”, says Ferrero, referring to the end of the season, with Alcaraz’s withdrawal from the Davis Cup. The coach denies that there have been arguments in the past, for tennis issues or otherwise: “We didn’t have discussions throughout the year, neither with him nor with no one around to him.” But then the discussion immediately shifts to legal issues: “They weren’t there many clauses in my favor in previous contract. I am faithful to my valuesand there they were some things that I couldn’t accept because of who I am.” The reference is obviously to new contract.
A dig of Ferrero, which however – at least for the moment – does not want to go into further detail. While talking about his former deputy, Samu Lopezwho has now become Alcaraz’s coach: “When relationships are very long they wear out, the arrival of Samu as assistant was very importantand this I don’t forget it“. Ferrero also talks about Alcaraz: “I still haven’t heard from Carlos after his farewell, I still haven’t. Return Together? Saying a clear no is impossible.”
