New adventure abroad for Alessandro Magro, after the coach said goodbye to Germani Brescia, with whom he reached the Serie A semi-finals this year. The coach from Castelfiorentino, in fact, has signed a contract with the BC Wolves of Vilnius, a team that participates in the EuroCup. For Magro a 1+1 in Lithuania, third experience abroad for him after being on the benches of Lokomotiv Kuban in Russia and Dąbrowa Górnicza in Poland.

Magro began his career as an assistant at Basket Livorno (2004-05), before moving to Viola Reggio Calabria (2005-06) and Mens Sana Siena (2006-14). His first experience as a head coach was at Fulgor Omegna (2014-16), before returning to be an assistant at Brescia (2016-19) and Lokomotiv Kuban (2019-20). Head coach in Poland with MKS Dabrowa Gornicza (2020-21) since 2021 he has been head coach in Brescia, winning the Italian Cup in 2023.

“We were looking for an ambitious, charismatic coach, a great strategist with solid knowledge and experience to become the head coach of the team. Alessandro Magro has all these qualities” Wolves sporting director Donatas Zavackas said.

“He is a relatively young coach, he has learned from high-level mentors such as Luca Banchi, he has worked with youth and senior teams, and he has experience in European tournaments. Congratulations to the coach for joining the club and we will start working immediately on the preparation for next season” Zavackas concluded.
