France is considered one of the favorite national teams to win the European Championships, but they didn’t go very well in the groups and, after winning the first match against Austria, they drew against Holland and Poland, finishing second in the group behind Austria. France and Belgium faced each other at the 2018 World Cup in the semi-final: France won 1-0, and a few days later also beat Croatia in the final.

Portugal, on the other hand, won their group, beating the Czech Republic and Turkey and losing to Georgia in the third match, when they were already sure of first place. They are a team full of talent, whose star player remains Cristiano Ronaldo, who many wonder whether, at 39 years of age, is an advantage or a disadvantage. Slovenia advanced to the knockout stage of an international tournament for the first time, after drawing three games against Denmark, Serbia and England.
